Project 1 Final Drawing

The road path is constructed in a geometry pattern which Le Corbusier believes human beings are subconsciously engage to simple geometry when most comfortable. The path leads people merging into the villa.
The road path is determined by the motor mobile turning circle, to create a "machine-like" for occupants.

The ramp leads up to the roof. The free-plan is determined by the structural columns: walls are detached, rooms are positioned according to needs and the staircase and ramp links the spaces together.
The private VS public are determined and separated.
The complexity of the house is revealed under skin of the ribbon windows. The enclosed and exposed are obvious, thus poche is created.
Deconstruction of Villa Savoye

Project 1 Final Model

Villa is being viewed from a distance as an "object-type" floating on the ground, reinforced by the pilots/ columns and the free facade.

"It is impossible to have a good view when standing in the grass. The real garden of the dwelling shall not be on the ground. This will be the hanging garden, where views are much more better."

The solarium on the roof directs the view back to Paris. The circular shape symbolizes the geometric landscape in nature and is being bought into the living.

"Nature is a from geometry consisting in uniformity, that is equality and proportion. Customary beauty is begotten by the use, as familiarity breeds a love for things not in themselves lovely."

- Sir Christopher Wren, Parentalia

The separation of private and public notes the hierarchy of spaces, dominates by the ramp.
